We have various Connect Groups meeting around the city. Connect Groups meet weekly or fortnightly depending on the needs of the participants, and are a great way to make friends and be encouraged in your Christian walk.

Ladies Café

Leader: Lil Kelly

Day & time: Wednesday 7 pm. Meeting fortnightly.

We have a fabulous time meeting in a coffee shop (usually in North Hobart) to share our stories, and to encourage and support one other. As we share, we are blessed by hearing testimonies of God's grace in our lives. Sorry men, this one is ladies only!



City Side

Leaders: Chris & Rose Evenhuis

Day & time: Tuesdays, 7.30 pm. Meeting fortnightly.

We have an emphasis on community and mutual support for one another within the group. Meetings are based around discussions (often on how Christians should deal with various issues). The group consists of mainly young families (about 25 and over) and married couples.


Dad's Link

Leader: Mark Newman

Day & time: various, usually on the weekend. Meeting monthly or so.

Are you a dad with children aged about 6 to 13? If so, this group is for you. It is designed to promote strong and fruitful relationships between fathers and their kids. Events will mostly be fun, social activities, such as a cricket match, and are perfect for inviting a mate and his kids along to.


The MOB (Men on Bikes)

Leader: Roger Ling

Day & time: Various

A group for active men (and teenagers) to participate in a variety of bike rides on established tracks and cycleways. This is a great opportunity for men and invited friends to get together and enjoy exercise and companionship. Events are usually held quarterly on a Saturday afternoon, and include a wind-down event such as a bbq or coffee. Some events include families.



Fern Tree

Day & time: Tuesday 7.00 pm. Meeting fortnightly.

We meet to connect with each other in a safe place. We enjoy encouraging, supporting and inspiring others from a diversity of backgrounds as we seek God's purpose and worship Him together. We enhance each others' lives through prayer and through sharing our testimony and daily walk with God.


Various Eateries in the City (Men’s)

Day & time: Tuesday, 12.30 pm. Meeting fortnightly.

This is a lunchtime men’s group. We catch up for lunch and spend time socialising. It's a great place to meet other men from the church. Some of the pastors drop by from time to time so we're always on our best behaviour. :)





Grace Mums

Leader: Cath Meredith

Day & time: various days and times.

For mums of newborn to preschool-aged children. We have a variety of activities that aim to bring a balance between focus on the children and the mums. Activities include afternoon tea ‘play dates’, walks, evening get-togethers (for mums to have a night off) and discussion times. A good support network in the early years of raising children is healthy and beneficial, and Grace Mums is a great way to connect with other mums!


Men's City Group

Leader: Phil Harback

Day & time: Tuesday, 7.30 pm. Meeting fortnightly in CHASM @ Grace.

Lead by our Grace Men leader, Phil Harback, this group seeks to develop meaningful and supportive relationships between the men who attend. You will be encouraged to serve the Lord with zeal as you discover more of God's call upon your life.


West Hobart (Youth)

Leader: Rachel Atkinson

Day & time: Every second Monday night.

We meet to explore and discuss the application of Christian principles to our lives as teenage girls. Recent studies have covered basics such as truth and the Bible, and looking at life and related topics, such as our Christian walk, relationships with friends, family and boys, and integrity/modesty! Sometimes lunch will be provided, other times packed lunch/money will be needed. The group consists of youthy girls.



Western Shore

Facilitators: Jeremy & Emma Morse

Day & time: Wednesday, 6.30 pm. Meeting fortnightly.

This group is primarily made up of families who are new to Grace. Our goal is to build Godly relationships - with each other, the rest of the Grace community and the world around us. We want people to know Jesus through seeing the way we live. Each evening starts with dessert and coffee, then we explore ways of applying God's principles to our lives. One of us looks after the kids, and we finish the night off with prayer for each other. We also meet socially for lunch, bushwalks, sailing, BBQs etc.



Kingborough

Facilitator: Kevin Swanepoel

Day & time: Monday, 7 pm. Meeting fortnightly.

This is a family-based group that welcomes people from the Kingborough area. A range of ages are represented and a variety of topics and themes are discussed and explored together. We support one another in prayer as we study the Bible and learn from one another's experiences in and of God.


Eastern Shore


Howrah

This group is primarily made up of young families, with a few wise bods to keep us on track! We do a combination of Bible study, prayer and social activities, and support each other as we do life together. You are welcome!



Bellerive (Prayer)

This group meets to pray for Grace church, its people and ministries both locally and overseas, and to pray for the extension of God's Kingdom in and through us. This is not a study group or a fellowship group but its purpose is to bring people together to pray.






Bellerive (Mature Age Group)

Day & time: Wednesdays 6 pm. Meeting fortnightly.

Meets for a shared meal followed by time of worship and discussion


Lindisfarne (Youth)

Leader: Tim Dornan

Day & time: Mondays 7 pm. Meeting fortnightly.

We have topical discussions on issues relating to Christianity as teenage guys. Recent studies have discussed ‘Who is God?’ and Integrity. The group consists of youthy guys.


Roches Beach

Leaders: David & Lyndy Burt

Day & time: Wednesday, 6 pm. Meeting fortnightly.

We meet for a meal, and then usually have a discussion about a Bible passage, or a topical discussion (on issues such as Intelligent Design). The group consists mainly of young adults (with or without children).





Family Group

Facilitators: Phil & Nina Francis

Day & time: Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm. Meeting monthly.

BYO lunch to this monthly family get-together! Bring your kids, parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and your dog (hmmm, maybe not too many dogs!). We meet to build relationship and to create opportunity for new families at Grace to meet other Gracers. It's pretty relaxed but highly beneficial and worthwhile! Call for the next venue and date.



Oakdowns (Bible Study)

Day & time: Monday nights (except when Graceworks is on) 7 pm

We meet to specifically develop our understanding of the Bible and how it relates to our lives. All ages are welcome; no prior Bible knowledge is needed.


Rose Bay

Day & time: Tuesdays, 10.30 am -12 noon. Meeting weekly.

We follow series of studies on various Biblical and Christian themes (eg, a study of the Great High Priestly Prayer of Jesus from John 17). The group consists mostly of ladies, mid-30s to senior (but men are not excluded!).

Northern Suburbs

Our aim is to support and care for group members, encouraging, praying for, and empowering each other to achieve all that God has for us through the Holy Spirit. We make visitors very welcome as we endeavour to restore and re-position the 'saved' and the 'unsaved' to their rightful position in the body of Christ. "Gently encouraging one another, reaching out and being attentive to individual needs" (1 Thess 5:11).



Lenah Valley

Day & time: Tuesday, 6.30 pm. Meeting fortnightly.

This group comprises a number of young couples, most of whom have young children. We start each meeting with dessert and coffee, and then study the Bible together as we discuss ways to apply God's truth in our lives. We share responsibilities as we develop honest and open relationships. One of our aims is for members to have a strong sense of belonging and connection.



Glenorchy Women's Group

This ladies group supports single mums - of all ages. We are a caring group of women who are developing strong relationships together as we study the Word of God, talk through issues and pray for each other. We are creating a safe place for women to share their journey.
